Take Action, Get Results
“At Functional Patterns Sydney, you’ll work with one of our 11 certified Human Biomechanics Specialists (HBS).
We train exclusively in the Functional Patterns methodology - a system designed to address the root cause of pain by improving fundamental human movements: standing, walking, running, and throwing.
We don’t just treat symptoms; we build the foundation for a stronger, more resilient, pain-free life.”

Our Process
-

Posture assessment
A posture assessment is an important first step in understanding how your body relates to gravity when you’re standing.
During the assessment, we’ll review your posture with you and identify any imbalances that may be contributing to the pain or discomfort you’re experiencing.
-

Gait analysis
Using slow-motion video, we assess your gait while walking, jogging, and sprinting on our curved treadmill (depending on your ability during the initial consultation).
This helps us identify compensations and suboptimal movement patterns your body may have developed over time.
-

apply myofascial release
Once we have identified your dysfunctions and imbalances we prepare the body for movement by applying myofascial release techniques.
By hydrating the fascia in this way we are able to create tension in the body that is more evenly distributed.
Often clients feel less restricted and a reduction in pain after myofascial release
-

Corrective exercises
Corrective exercises in Functional Patterns help restore proper tension throughout the body, so you can move more efficiently and with better mechanics.
When you move better, there’s less strain and friction through joints and tissues - often leading to reduced inflammation and less pain.
Over time, we work to retrain your movement patterns and build strength and muscle that support your body during everyday activity and athletic movement.
WHAT SETS US APART
At FP Sydney we take a systems approach to addressing your biomechanical problem.
We identify the root cause of your dysfunctions, helping you reach long lasting results and teaching you how to address the system.
